Dose Adjustment:
Based on blood uric acid levels, the dose may be increased to 20mg once daily after 3–6 weeks. After 7 weeks, the maintenance dose may be increased to 40mg per day.

Stop taking the medication and consult your doctor if you experience:

? Precautions During Treatment
1️⃣ Regular Monitoring of Uric Acid and Liver Function
Monitor uric acid levels regularly, especially during dose changes.
Febuxostat may affect liver function; regular liver function tests (e.g., AST, ALT) are recommended.
2️⃣ Risk of Initial Gout Flare ("Rebound Effect")
Uric acid fluctuations in early treatment may temporarily trigger gout attacks.
Do not stop or increase the dosage on your own. Doctors may prescribe preventative medications like colchicine or NSAIDs.
3️⃣ Do Not Adjust or Stop Medication Without Doctor's Advice
Febuxostat requires consistent and long-term use to control uric acid levels.
If a dose is missed, never double the dose. Always consult your doctor before making changes.
4️⃣ Diet and Alcohol Considerations
Even with medication, dietary management is important:
Avoid organ meats, seafood, rich broths, and other high-purine foods;
Limit alcohol, especially beer and spirits, as they raise uric acid levels.
5️⃣ Drug Interactions
Use with caution when combining with:
Immunosuppressants (e.g., azathioprine, 6-mercaptopurine);
Cardiovascular medications;
Anticoagulants (e.g., warfarin).
Before starting any new medication or supplement, consult your doctor or pharmacist.
6️⃣ Seek Medical Help for Serious Symptoms
Discontinue use and seek medical attention if you experience:
Yellowing of the skin or eyes, suggesting liver dysfunction;
Fatigue, appetite loss;
Skin rash, difficulty breathing, or throat swelling, indicating a possible allergic reaction.
